Using recycled materials this work recreates ecosystems that reflect our daily lives through three vertical levels: ground, table, sky.

As in fractals, structures are repeated at different levels of reality, and can be observed from a distance. Unlikely micro events suggest a repetition of patterns and invite reflection.

Exhibited in “Pecats” (Sins) oponed April, 8th, Sala Arimany, Canovelles (Barcelona).

Based on the figure of the “thin man that never flags”, it creates movement, light and poetry out of recycled materials.

La tercera edició d’aquest festival està dedicada a Pedro Casariego Córdoba i arrenca el dia 23 de gener. Fins el dia 26 es podran veure les creacions d’un gran nombre d’artistes procedents de diferents àmbits culturals i geogràfics. El festival de participació ciutadana està “dedicat a donar a conèixer fets culturals lliures dels condicionaments estipulats per la indústria i la societat.”

Inspirats en l’obra del “poeta raro” trobareu obres d’artistes i participants activistes de diferents disciplines. Des de mags a músics, performers, poetes, acròbates…que ompliran diferents espais de la ciutat.

Col·laborem amb el projecte amb una ambientació lumínica a mode de poesia visual al Centre Cultural la Mercè. Un petit homenatge a aquest “hombre delgado que no flaqueará jamás“.

sólo existe el artista interior, sólo se puede ser artista secreto, la comunión todo lo mancha. ¡Estábamos canonizando a los más débiles, nombrábamos doctores a los incapaces…!

Si un Médico tomara la temperatura a los que creen ser hombres, diría que todos ellos albergan vana y terrible fiebre de homenajes y adulaciones.

Inventemos un termómetro de audacia; convirtámonos en hombres, aunque sea para desaparecer: os propongo entonar conmigo, sin mí y en silencio, el primer y último canto, el canto de la digna y mortal soberbia.

The British theatre company Stan’s Café presents its performance installation Of All the People in All the World…, a visual construction of statistics where rice is used to represent human beings: each grain is a person.

Using 2,000 kg of rice, the company’s actors weigh out and pile up this basic foodstuff to quantify a range of information connected with the seven NOW themes: How many people use solar energy in Barcelona? How many people do voluntary work in Spain? How many doctors are there? And soldiers? The statistics and their superimposition tell stories that can be moving, shocking or amusing, and provoke interactive thought with the audience over the four days that the performance lasts.

Elements from areas as diverse as laboratory research, the social sciences and the strict, detailed work of industrial processes overlap in this piece. As the performance develops, a sculptural landscape of constantly evolving piles of rice is constructed, often as a result of interaction with members of the audience: they are encouraged to take part by sharing their stories, interests or suggestions for new statistics as they gradually perceive, from among the huge piles of rice, the subtle links between the individual and the community, the local and the global, and oneself and everyone else.
